Maya Lin - ‘Ghost Forest’ Environmental Events Series
November 9th
Artist and designer Maya Lin has installed 49 dead cedar trees in Midtown Manhattan's Madison Square Park to raise awareness of ecosystem die-off due to climate change.
Called Ghost Forest, the project was commissioned by Madison Square Park Conservancy. The dead Atlantic white cedar trees have been erected on The Oval Lawn of the park.
The Pine Barrens will screen accompanied by a live score by The Ruins of Friendship Orchestra at Fotografiska. The screening/performance will be viewable both in person and virtually.
